1. Who We Are

casenet.us is an independent informational website operated by Sarah Moe, J.D., a Missouri court records researcher based in the United States. casenet.us provides plain-language guides, walkthroughs, and educational content about Missouri CaseNet — the official Missouri public court records portal located at courts.mo.gov/casenet and operated by the Missouri Office of State Courts Administrator (OSCA).

Important: casenet.us is NOT the official Missouri CaseNet website and is not affiliated with OSCA, the Missouri Judicial Branch, or any government entity. The official Missouri CaseNet portal is at courts.mo.gov/casenet. casenet.us does not have access to, store, transmit, or process any actual Missouri court records.

2. Information We Collect

casenet.us collects limited data in two ways: automatically (through your browser and third-party services) and voluntarily (when you submit our contact form or post a comment).

Automatically collected data includes:

  • Standard server log data: IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, and date/time of access
  • Analytics data collected by Google Analytics: session duration, page depth, device type, geographic region (country/state level)
  • Advertising data collected by Google AdSense: ad impressions, ad clicks, and interest-based advertising identifiers
  • Cookie data (see Section 6 for full cookie details)

Data you voluntarily provide includes:

  • Contact form submissions: name, email address, inquiry type, and message content
  • Blog comments (if enabled): name, email address, and comment text

Data we do NOT collect: casenet.us does not collect, process, or have access to any Missouri court records, CaseNet search queries performed at courts.mo.gov, Social Security numbers, financial information, or sensitive personal identifiers.

casenet.us uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google AdSense uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to casenet.us and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to casenet.us and/or other sites on the Internet.

4. Analytics

casenet.us uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this website. Google Analytics collects aggregated, anonymized data about page views, session duration, traffic sources, device types, and geographic location at the country and state level. We use this data solely to improve the site’s content and usability.

Google Analytics data is processed by Google LLC and governed by Google’s Privacy Policy. We do not share or sell Google Analytics data with third parties. IP addresses collected by Google Analytics are anonymized by IP masking before storage. To opt out of Google Analytics tracking, install the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on.

Some links on this site to third-party services (such as background check services, legal information platforms, and expungement services) are affiliate links. When you submit the contact form on casenet.us, we collect your name, email address, selected inquiry type, and message. This data is used solely to respond to your inquiry. Contact form submissions are:

  • Stored securely and not shared with third parties except as required by law
  • Retained for up to 12 months, after which they are deleted
  • Never used for marketing purposes without your explicit consent
  • Not used to identify you across other websites

If you post a comment on casenet.us, your name, email (not publicly displayed), and comment text are stored in our WordPress database. Comment data may be retained indefinitely as part of the site’s public record unless you request deletion.

casenet.us contains links to external websites including courts.mo.gov (official Missouri CaseNet), PACER (pacer.gov), Missouri DOC, MOBAR, and various background check and legal services. casenet.us is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these third-party sites. When you click a link to an external site, that site’s own privacy policy applies. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any external site before providing personal information.

Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of casenet.us after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
